Grant Medical College, Mumbai clinical affiliate is Sir Jamsetjee Jeejebhoy Group of Hospitals: a conglomerate of four hospitals in South Bombay including the Sir J. J. Hospital, St George Hospital, Gokuldas Tejpal Hospital, and Cama and Albless Hospital (women and children hospital).

The medical college is situated in Byculla on the campus of Sir J. J. Hospital. The hospital has 2844 beds and caters to an annual load of 1,200,000 out-patients and 80,000 in-patients, from all parts of Maharashtra and central India. The campus is the largest of any medical colleges in Mumbai.

It is spread out over 44 acres (180,000 m2) in the Byculla area of South Mumbai. The campus is notable for its greenery and open spaces in an otherwise congested part of the city. With gradual additions and expansions since its initial foundation, the campus has a mix of buildings depicting both modern Indian and Colonial architecture.

As the campus expanded it incorporated hospitals that were originally independent before being absorbed into J.J. Hospital and thus retain some of their older names, notably: C.J. Ophthalmic Hospital, B.J. Hospital for children and the David Sasoon Hospital.

The campus has a total of 45 wards, 5 hostels and 7 canteens. It also provides residential facilities to its teaching faculty, resident doctors, medical students, nurses and other hospital workers. The anatomy hall of Grant Medical College was featured in the movie Munnabhai M.B.B.S. as central lecture hall in the fictional medical school attended by the lead character.

In addition to the main campus situated at Byculla, it also has a sea facing gymkhana at marine drive in south Mumbai. Recently The JJ hospital campus also includes the Richardson Cruddas building next to it for research purposes

Infrastructure

Grant Medical College is spread over 43 acres in Mumbai. Sir J.J Group of Hospital covers an area 6890 sq.mt. GMC and the hospital consist of lecture theatre, demo rooms, common rooms, laboratory, library, skill lab, computer lab, auditorium, hostel, cafeteria, and mess. The lecture theatres have 250 seating capacity. The auditorium is built over an area 800 sq.mt. The central photography cum AV aids are available with modern equipment which includes 11 LCD projector, 8 slid projector, and 8 overhead projectors.

Libary

Grant medical college has a central library and departmental libraries. The central library covers an area of 6 acres. It has 45000 medical text and reference books, 449 Indian and foreign journals are subscribed annually. The library was maintained by highly experienced staff. It was working from 8 am to 10 pm. GMC central library offers reading rooms with 270 seating capacity and a stack room. It provides E-library, internet facility with desktop, wi-fi facility and also access to MUHS library.

Hostel

The GMC Hostel has 860 rooms for undergraduate students, 410 rooms for postgraduate students and 200 rooms for interns. Both are well-furnished with table, cupboard and attached bathroom facilities. The hostel provides mess with a separate dining area for girls and boys. In GMC hostel, air-conditioned study rooms, visitors hall, internet facility and recreational area with TV are offered. Seven canteens for staff and students.

Grant Medical College is Located in Mumbai, its the major city of Maharashtra. The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport Mumbai is nearest to the GMC, 18 kilometers from the college with the traveling time 54 minutes. The Mumbai city is well connected by all transport like roadways and railways. The Mumbai central railway station is 2.1 kilometers from the college and MSRTC central bus station is 2 kilometers apart from the Grant Medical College.
