The Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences is an Autonomous Government Medical College of the Karnataka Government. Mandya Institute is located on the State Highway No. 17 (Bengaluru – Mysore road) at a distance of 90 Kilometers from Bengaluru City.
MIMS was founded in the year 2005 and the First batch of Bachelor students was admitted in the year 2006 and the First batch of Post Graduate students (Pre and Para Clinical subjects) in the year 2010-11.

Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences have Separate Hostel for both boys and girls inside the College Campus. Separate In house Kitchen facility with mess managed by students. 154 rooms in each Hostel accommodation capacity of 616 students.
