New Medical college in Maharashtra.

New Medical college in Maharashtra: The Medical Education Department announced that a 430–bed medical college and hospital will be built in the Maharashtra University of Health Science (MUHS), stated a GR on Wednesday.

The new medical college has been named Maharashtra Post-Graduate Medical Education and Research Institute and will have an intake of 100 MBBS students.

The college will function as an autonomous body for day-to-day operation and management and MUHS, Nashik will look after the general supervision.

The cost of the college and the hospital is estimated to be around Rs.627.62 crore. An expenditure of Rs.263.11 crore has been sanctioned for the construction and college and hospital. A total of Rs.120 crore has been sanctioned for machinery and equipment.

The condition of approval of the high-level secretary committee has been relaxed and approval has been given by the MUHS for creation of necessary posts and filling of posts in the university.
The college will have a capacity of 64 Post MBBS students for postgraduate courses in 15 subjects.
