What is Stray Vacancy / Institutional Round in Medical Admission?


Stray Vacancy / Institutional Round in Medical Admission : There are many terminologies you will know while you are going to take admission in the Medical field after NEET Exam, both in post-graduation & under graduation courses . In the part of that terminology, one of is Stray vacancy round in normal language the last & final round to fill the balance vacant Medical seat at College/Institution level is called Stray vacancy round. 
After completing three rounds of counseling i.e. Round 1, Round 2 of AIQ (All India Counselling) and Mop-Up Round of Deemed & central university conducted online by MCC (Medical Council Committee), if the seats remain vacant is surrender to respective institutions / Colleges.
And the institutions conduct an offline admission process for these surrendered vacant seats. Eligible candidates will have to apply to individual institutions for taking admission that’s why this round is called institutional rounds.
The Stray Vacancy / Institutional round shall be conducted by the respective Deemed & Central Universities for which the list of registered candidates for the Stray Vacancy round will be forwarded by the MCC to the respective Deemed Universities.
All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET UG conducted by NTA including candidates from the Union Territory of J&K will be eligible.

Eligible Candidates for Stray Vacancy in Medical admission Round of Deemed / Central Universities.

All Registered Candidates except the following three categories are eligible for Stray Vacancy Round of Deemed/ Central Universities:-
a) Candidates who joined the allotted seat in Round 2nd of AIQ / Deemed / Central Universities.
b) Candidates allotted a seat in Mop-Up Round of MCC
c) Candidates joined a seat in the Mop-Up Round of MCC.

Non-Eligible Candidates for Stray Vacancy Round of Deemed Universities.

Following Candidates are not eligible:-
a) Candidates who joined the allotted seat in Round 2nd of AIQ / Deemed / Central Universities.
b) Candidates allotted a seat in Mop Up Round of MCC and NOT REPORTED.
c) Candidates joined the allotted seat in the Mop-Up Round of MCC.
d) Candidates who have not registered for participating in the All India & Deemed university counseling process in any of the previous 3 Rounds.
