Maharashtra State Medical Admission-Eligibility Criteria 


For taking Admission into Medical Courses i.e MBBS/ BDS/ BAMS/ BHMS/ BUMS/ BPTh/ BASLP/ BP&O & B.sc Nursing in Maharashtra State Government or Private Colleges candidates must fulfil following Eligibility Criteria 

1- The candidate must be an Indian National.  

2- Indian Citizen Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Candidate will be eligible for Government / Corporation / Government Aided / Private unaided college. Provided such candidates have passed 10th& 12th from the State of Maharashtra and should be a domicile of Maharashtra or staying in the state of Maharashtra for a minimum period of 10 years.

3- The candidate must be born on or before 31st December 2003 to be eligible for all Health Science Courses. The Birth certificate indicating the name of the candidate, Secondary School Certificate i.e. SSC or equivalent examination certificate or School Leaving Certificate endorsing the date of birth will constitute a valid proof.

4- Upper age limit for Admission to B.A.M.S., B.U.M.S and B.H.M.S degree Course – Not more than twenty-five years on or before 31st December of the year of admission in the first year of the course. Provided that the upper age limit may be relaxed by five years in the case of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward classes and Physically Handicapped candidates.

5- The candidate must be medically fit and must submit a certificate of medical fitness at the time of Document Verification as per proforma.

6- The candidate must have passed the SSC or equivalent examination from an Institution situated in the state of Maharashtra. Exemption – Candidate who has passed SSC or equivalent examination in 2017 or prior to that, from an institute outside the State of Maharashtra is also eligible to seek admission in this Category, provided he has passed HSC or qualifying
an examination from an institute in the State of Maharashtra and also possess a Domicile Certificate issued by the authority, who is competent to issue such certificate in the State of Maharashtra for educational purpose

7- The candidate must have passed the qualifying examination i.e. Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC/12th Standard) or equivalent examination, from an Institution situated in the State of Maharashtra with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology)

For MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BUMS/BHMS Admission : A candidate belonging to Open Category must have obtained not less than 50% (i.e. 150 out of 300) marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the HSC (or equivalent) Examination. A candidate belonging to a constitutional reservation (Annexure- B); and constitutional reservation with Person with disability claim must have obtained not less than 40% (i.e. 120 out of 300) marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the HSC (or equivalent) Examination.

Person with disability candidate in the General category must secure not less than 45% marks (i.e. 135 out of 300) in Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) taken together at the HSC (or equivalent) Examination or decided by the respective central council. 

Eligiblity for Institutional Quota Admission
 :-  Any eligible candidate on All India basis can  be admitted including non-Resident  Indians (NRI) and Overseas Citizens of  India (OCI), as well as Outside Maharashtra candidate (OMS) who had appeared for the National  Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test and declared eligible for  admission to undergraduate Medical and Dental courses, in accordance with  inter-se-merit amongst candidates who apply  for institutional quota seats. However NRI candidate will  be preferred. These seats will be filled by competent authority  through CAP. Such seats if remain vacant  after all CAP round will be surrendered to respective institute for  institutional level  round.  

For B.Sc. Nursing Admission – A candidate should have passed in the subjects of PCB and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks taken together in PCB at the qualified examination i.e. (10 + 2). Furthermore, the candidates belonging to SC / ST or other backward classes, the marks obtained in PCB taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 45% as stated above. English is a compulsory subject in 10 + 2 for being eligible for admission to B.Sc(N) OR as prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council from time to time.


 

For BPTh, BOTh, BASLP & BP&O courses Admission : Only HSC/12 standard Passing grade or equivalent examination is however necessary.

For admission to BP&O candidates who have passed 12th standard examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and/or Mathematics are eligible.

For admission to BASLP, candidates who have passed 12th standard examination with Physics, Biology, Chemistry and/or Mathematics and/or Computer Science are eligible.

Additional Eligibility for BUMS: Candidate should have passed SSC (or equivalent) examination from the recognized board with Urdu or Arabic or Persian Language as one of the subject.

NEET UG 2021 Eligibility for Admission to MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BUMS and BHMS Courses:

A candidate belonging to the open category must secure not less than 50 percentile marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) taken together at NEET UG-2020. A candidate belonging to a constitutional reservation and constitutional reservation with Person with disability claim must secure not less than 40 percentile marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) taken together in the NEET UG -2020. Person with disability candidate in General category must secure not less than 45 percentile marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) taken together in the NEET UG -2020 or decided by the respective central council time to time.

NEET UG-2020 Marks for Admission to BPTh/BOTh/BASLP/BP&O and B.Sc. Nursing: A candidate will be selected on the basis of merit in NEET-UG -2021 to above-stated courses. No minimum percentile or marks is required.
